Moxie, who had previously taken a somewhat European approach to gorroming took a long bath this morning and shaved her entire body.

We woke up at noon, still drunk! But the open road was waiting for us, so Moxie sobered up as quick as she could and took the wheel. We made it about 90 miles down the road when we had to pull over for Stella to make an offering to the road. The hot desert sun was getting to us and we decided to stop again soon after to get rid of our unwanted hitchhiker -- old friend hangover again.

Our choice of stopes was the Bunboy in Baker, CA - home of the World's Largest Thermometer! Once we saw the lighted thermometer in its full 134 foot glory we knew the trip had not been in vain, we had at LAST seen a worthy monument. Inside the Bunboy we had a very hard time deciding what food would suit our tender stomachs, and ended up with one hamburger patty, one bun, buttered toast, and two soft drinks. A simply yet surreal meal.

After our rest we felt much revived and travelled on. Stella kept Moxie enteretained as she drove by reading to her from The Little Prince. Eventually, we made it into Santa Barbara in the dead of night, tingling with excitement at the arrival at our final destination, anticipation oat Stella's new life there, and joy at seeing our long lost friend and roadtripping brothe who ws waiting for us in Santa Barbar, Tex Malone.
