2003-03-26 - 11:14 a.m. There were gunshots outside the building just now and so the whole building and the adjacent child care center are on lock down.This weekend 2 kids, 13 and 14 year old boys, were shot and killed by an older youth who walked up and killed them. One kid was standing in his church parking lot. The other kid was waiting in a car. Why are we sending our young people to Iraq to war, when there is a war here? Why are we sending them to get killed in the sand, when they could just as easily get killed here? Why are we spending billions of dollars in war, and in humanitarian relief, and later in peacekeeping and reconstruction OVERSEAS, when there is a war killing our young people here, and we need humanitarian aid and peacekeeping here? I have to go. The lockdown is over and we're allowed to leave the building now. I'm going to lunch. previous /next |
